l rules of the Ohio Rules of Transportation including annual participation in a minimum of 4 hours of in-service in school transportation-related training - Physical capability of appropriately lifting and managing of handicapped pupils when necessary - Possessing skills through in-service training related to the transportation of the handicapped - A satisfactory criminal background report in accordance with 3327.10 of the Revised Code  
Duties:
- Meets all physical qualifications set forth by rule 3301-83-07 of the Administrative Code - All physicals must be completed before drivers will be qualified to operate a school bus - A person may be certified if they have no loss or impairment of a foot, leg, hand, or arm, and no other structural defect or limitations which is likely to interfere with a person's ability to control and safely operate a school bus - Has no current clinical diagnosis of any cardiovascular disease.
Has no medical history of clinical diagnosis of a respiratory dysfunction likely to interfere with a person's ability to control and safely operate a school bus - Has no established medical history according to the list in the transportation department - Obey all traffic laws, observing all safety regulations established for Shawnee Schools - Inspect the bus prior to daily operation; keep the inside of the bus clean; wash exterior, windshield, lights, and signs as needed - Complete all required reports, time slips, fuel slips, etc. - Work cooperatively with the supervisor and other drivers to solve typical daily emergencies on all concerns and problems - Complete all yearly in-services required for the position - School bus drivers who have experienced a prolonged period of absence due to illness may be required by the superintendent to be re-examined in accordance with this rule - Perform duties during times of calamity, acts of nature, or other emergencies
