The employee must adequately drive and operate small and large trucks plus all types of heavy duty equipment used in the department such as a loader, packer, Link belt, roller, plow, backhoe, sweeper, Vactor, root cutter, compressor or Drott.
The employee also performs a variety of manual labor tasks.
The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a Foreman or other senior level employee and may provide lead supervision to Laborers and Motor Equipment Operators.
The employee may be required to be on twenty‑four (24) hour call seven (7) days per week.
Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years of paid full‑time or its part‑time equivalent experience in the operation of medium and large trucks and heavy motor equipment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
Possession of a valid New York State Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) at the time of appointment.
Candidates for employment with Monroe County Government will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test, including marijuana for positions requiring a commercial driver's license (CDL).
Failure to meet the standards may result in disqualification.
