Purpose of the position
To perform heavy equipment operating, rigging, and vehicle maintenance at the Johnson Space Center, Ellington Field and the SCTF as an Amentum employee.
Principal Responsibilities of the Position
+ Same as above with the ability to perform all work safely and to produce logical lift plans and perform all needed paperwork to meet contractor and government requirements.


Education and Experience Requirements
+ Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background questionnaire. + Referral must provide documentation to support qualifications. + Insuring quality and completeness of work as well as insuring areas worked are clean, neat and ready for customers needs when complete. + Must have a minimum of Journeyman Rigging Certification and DOT certifications where needed.
Signal Man Certification preferred. + Must have a High School Diploma or GED or 5 years relevant work experience.
Requirements
+ Must be a U.S.
Citizen in order to obtain, and maintain,required NASA badge. + Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire). + Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an
effective
manner. + Must have, and maintain, a valid Texas driver’s license (with REAL ID star)
Special Knowledge and Skills Required
+ This position is located onsite at NASA JSC and requires US Citizenship. + Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test. + Clean, neat, and professional personal appearance. + Will insure quality and completeness of work in a safe and timely manner as well as insuring areas worked are clean, neat and ready for customers needs when complete. + NCCCO certification required. + Must be able to pass DOT physical. + Must have, and maintain, a valid Driver’s License + Must have a CDL or be willing to obtain a CDL within 60 days of employment.


Physical Requirements
+ Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. + Dexterity to operate office and field equipment as required by the position. + In good physical shape/condition for climbing in and out of tight restricted working areas, as applicable. ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­


Preferences
+ Prior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations preferred.
