Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate daily work activities of crew members on sewer and water excavation projects.
Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and utility maps.
Ensure proper installation and connection of water and sewer lines according to specifications and local codes.
Operate and oversee the use of heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and backhoes.
Conduct safety meetings, enforce company and OSHA safety standards, and ensure a clean, safe job site.
Monitor project progress, troubleshoot issues, and communicate updates to project management. Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, equipment usage, and job site conditions.
Liaise with inspectors, subcontractors, and utility companies as needed.
Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members to ensure quality workmanship and productivity.
Minimum
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent 2+ years construction experience Ability to operate excavator machine Strong leadership skills Strong problem solving and communication skills Ability to shift priorities Preferred
Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in sewer and water excavation, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Strong understanding of underground utility installation practices and safety protocols.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Proficient in operating construction equipment related to excavation work.
Knowledge of local and state regulations for sewer and water systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus.
