Key Responsibilities:
- Perform splicing, terminating, and testing of coaxial and fiber optic cables (aerial, underground, and inside plant). - Use fusion splicing and mechanical splicing techniques to connect fibers according to specifications. - Conduct signal testing with OTDR, power meters, and other industry-standard test equipment. - Troubleshoot and repair damaged cables and connectors. - Install, maintain, and repair enclosures, splitters, nodes, and other related equipment. - Read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and splicing diagrams. - Maintain accurate splicing records, documentation, and test results. - Ensure all work complies with company standards, local codes, and safety regulations. - Collaborate with construction, engineering, and field teams to deliver projects on time. - Work in a variety of conditions, including confined spaces, heights, and various weather environments. ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred). - 1-3 years of experience in coax or fiber splicing (both preferred). - Strong knowledge of fiber optic theory, cable color codes, and splicing practices. - Proficiency with OTDR, fusion splicers, test sets, and related equipment. - Ability to read and interpret network maps and construction blueprints. - Valid drivers license and clean driving record (CDL is a plus). - Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments. - Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of DOCSIS, RF, and broadband networks. - Experience with aerial and underground construction practices. - Familiarity with GIS/mapping tools and digital reporting software. - Certifications in fiber optics (e.g., FOA CFOT, ETA FOT, or equivalent) are highly desirable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Work Environment:
- Field-based position; exposure to outdoor weather conditions. - May require evening, weekend, or on-call work depending on project schedules. - Travel to multiple work sites within the service area.
