2.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
a.
Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
b.
Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or
push heavy
objects or materials.
c.
Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and
reaching.
d.
Requires climbing and balancing.
e.
Requires driving skills, including ability to operate a vehicle at
night.
f.
Requires lengthy and overnight travel.
g.
Requires agility necessary to quickly and safely exit drivers seat
and rear
emergency door.
h.
Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year-round.
i.
Must be able to work in noisy, crowded, stressful environments.
j.
Must be able to work in and around dust, fumes, and odors.
k.
Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
General Responsibilities:
1.
Abide by all Kansas school transportation regulations.
2.
Attend all monthly safety meetings.
3.
Provide safe and orderly transportation to and from school and
school-related
activities.
4.
Maintain assigned schedule.
5.
Transport only authorized students.
6.
Discharge students only at authorized stops.
7.
Maintain student discipline.
8.
Abide by all traffic laws.
9.
Inspect bus prior to each route or activity trip, and file inspection
forms with the
transportation supervisor.
10.Maintain bus in clean condition and inform the transportation
supervisor
whenever a bus is received in unsatisfactory condition.
11.Immediately notify the transportation supervisor if the route is
running late or of
mechanical failure.
12.Inform the transportation supervisor of routine maintenance and
repair required.
13.Report all accidents and file required accident reports with the
transportation
supervisor.
14.Wash and clean bus on an established schedule.
15.Assist mechanic with maintenance and repair as needed.
16.Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas and techniques.
17.Adhere to all district health and safety policies.
18.Other duties as assigned by the transportation supervisor or
administrative staff
which are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications
for the
position.
