cultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS), you will repair/replace parts on equipment and facilities at all centers for the Animal Science department.
Be able to do carpentry, plumbing, welding, sheet metal, masonry, etc.
Design and build from scratch special tools, equipment, and parts (involving wood, metal, electrical, hydraulics, etc.).
Perform irrigation duties to farmland and pastures.
Pumping, and agitating animal waste lagoons, lying out 6 hose, and operate a big gun and reel.
Percentage Breakdown of Job Functions:
30% - Irrigation Work: Perform irrigation duties on dry land and pastures, from animal waste lagoons.
Pumping, agitating lagoons, lay out 6 hose and operate big gun and reel.
30% - Repair Equipment and Facilities: Repair - replace parts on equipment and facilities at all centers for Animal Science department.
Also do plumbing and carpentry.
25% - Fabricate and Build: Design and build from scratch special tools, equipment and parts (involving wood, metal, electrical, hydraulics, etc.).
5% - Haul and Handle Livestock: Haul cattle, hogs, and sheep to sales yard, other pastures, and packing plants.
5% - Organize and Clean: Organize and maintain shop, work areas, and service truck.
5% - Other: Additional duties as required.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time (100% FTE), Permanent position.
This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary:
Range 48G | $5,011 - $5,812 (Step G-M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/WAC/default.aspx?cite=357-28.

Required
Qualifications:
• High school graduation and four years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction or repair work or completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade; OR equivalent education/experience.
• Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with https://policies.wsu.edu/prf/index/manuals/safety-policies-procedures-manual/sppm-7-10/#four3 and departmental driving standards.
• A CDL and Pesticide license will be required to maintain employment.
