ALL EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
PURPOSE SUMMARY.
Operate a variety of heavy gas/diesel mobile equipment in transporting materials or in performing general construction and labor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES.
- A safety sensitive position that performs a variety of construction/maintenance equipment operation, semi-skilled tasks and manual labor as assigned in the construction and maintenance of roads, bridges and drainage structures.

- Operate a variety of trucks and equipment that are classified as heavy equipment (Class A CDL) in accordance with the New Mexico Department of Transportation, including but not limited to; motor-grader, water pull, scraper, dozer, transport tractor, 3-5 yd.
loader, semi-tractor end dump, excavator, vacuum truck, street sweeper, etc., exercising all safety regulations and procedures.

- Check grades on roadway utilizing a level and established elevations.

- Read and interpret plans for construction.

- Maintain grades and cut/fill stakes in accordance with specific instructions and/or plans specifications.

- Maintain streets, culverts and drainage ways; observes inspects, and monitors conditions.

- Complete required daily logs and reports and submits the information to the assigned Foreman describing tasks performed and materials used to include but not limited to, tons of material removed from water systems, miles of road swept, number and size of culverts cleaned, and miles graded.

- Haul materials and transport vehicles and equipment to job sites using various trucks and equipment.

- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance work on assigned equipment; identifies and reports mechanical problems requiring additional repair to the assigned supervisor.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

May be required to work irregular hours during emergency situations, occasional overtime and may be required to be on-call or subject to emergency call-out.
QUALIFICATIONS.
A.
Education.
High School Diploma or GED required.
B.
Experience.
Five (5) years full time experience in a general construction environment, of which at least two years in heavy equipment operations.
C.
Education/Experience substitution.
In accordance with MANS-CO policy.
D.
Licenses/Certifications.
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required, Endorsements (H, T, P, N, X) preferred; Traffic Control Certification is desirable.
E.
Other (e.g., post-offer medical exam, polygraph, background check, drivers license record, etc.).
Background check, pre-employment drug and alcohol test, and driving record check.
Must comply with the drug and alcohol Clearinghouse requirements in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:

Construction plans; Safety regulations (OSHA); Traffic laws pertinent to operation of equipment performing road construction, repairs and maintenance.
Knowing and abiding by all MANS-CO policies and procedures.

Perform minor preventative maintenance on assigned equipment; safely use a variety of tools and equipment related to road construction repairs.
Skill, acquired through considerable training and experience, to operate and adjust varied equipment for purposes such as performing road construction/maintenance.

Effectively communicate in oral and/or written form.
Understand, interpret and carry out oral and written instructions; read gauges on equipment and be abl to operate equipment effectively.
Maintain and wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
Establish and maintain a working relationship with employees and the public; use good judgment; maintain daily reports.

TRABAJO RESUMEN DE PROPSITOS.
Opere una variedad de equipos mviles ligeros en el transporte de materiales o en la realizacin de la construccin general y del trabajo para construir, reparar carreteras.
DEBERES ESENCIALES.
Una posicin sensible a la seguridad que realiza una variedad de operaciones de equipos de construccin/mantenimiento, tareas semi-calificadas y mano de obra segn se asigne en la construccin y mantenimiento de carreteras, puentes y estructuras de drenaje.
Opera una variedad de camiones y equipos que estn clasificados como equipos ligeros (CDL Clase B) de acuerdo con el Departamento de Transporte de Nuevo Mxico, incluidos, entre otros; compresor de aire, martillo neumtico, rodillo neumtico, retroexcavadora, camin volquete, distribuidor de asfalto, esparcidor de virutas, cortadora de csped, escoba elctrica, cargador frontal, montacargas, rodillo de rueda de acero, etc., ejerciendo todas las normas y procedimientos de seguridad.
Completa los registros e informes diarios requeridos y los enva al supervisor asignado.
Transporta materiales y transporta vehculos y equipos a los sitios de trabajo utilizando varios camiones y equipos.
Realiza inspecciones de rutina y trabajos de mantenimiento preventivo en los equipos asignados; Identifica y reporta problemas mecnicos que requieren reparacin adicional al supervisor asignado.
Trabaja y asiste a las cuadrillas en la repavimentacin, el aceitado y el parcheo, y la nivelacin y conformacin de las carreteras.
Establece formas para muros de cabeza de concreto y puede trabajar en el equipo de puentes, el equipo de proyectos, el equipo de mantenimiento y el equipo de letreros.

Realiza otras tareas segn se le asigne o se requiera.
Las tareas enumeradas anteriormente estn destinadas solo a ilustrar los diversos tipos de trabajo que se pueden realizar.
La omisin de funciones especficas no los excluye del cargo si el trabajo es similar, relacionado o una asignacin lgica al cargo.
Es posible que se requiera trabajar en horarios irregulares durante situaciones de emergencia, horas extras ocasionales y se puede requerir que est de guardia.
REQUISITOS.A.
Educacin.
Se requiere diploma de escuela secundaria o GED.
B.
Experiencia.
Cinco aos de experiencia en operaciones de construccin general y/o equipos ligeros a tiempo completo.
C.
Sustitucin de Educacin/Experiencia.
Licencias/Certificaciones.
La Licencia de Conducir Comercial (CDL) Clase B vlida puede requerir un endoso especializado segn el rea de asignacin.
E.
Otros (por ejemplo, examen mdico posterior a la oferta, polgrafo, verificacin de antecedentes, registro de licencia de conducir, etc.).
Verificacin de antecedentes, prueba de drogas y alcohol previa al empleo y verificacin de antecedentes de manejo.
Debe cumplir con los requisitos del Centro de Informacin sobre drogas y alcohol de acuerdo con la Administracin Federal de Seguridad de Autotransportes.
