Time Warp 1988 Kenworth Tractor & 48' Canepa Concept Transporter

Take a moment to read this description carefully. This is a 1988 Kenworth T600 Tractor and 48' Dorsey trailer. As we said in the listing's title, this rig is straight out of a time warp. It is little different than it was when it was purchased in 1988.

We are the rig's second owners. The first owner had it from 1988-2011. We bought it in November of 2011. Our racing plans have changed, however, and it is surplus to our needs.

When the rig was purchased in 1988, it cost more than $250,000. The tractor and transporter were received in primer, then painted a vibrant British Racing green and yellow, as was seen on 1960's Lotus race cars. The paint remains fresh, even today. The Kenworth tractor has about 425,000 miles on it. Do the math and you will see that it averaged less than 18,000 miles per year. The tractor recently was fully serviced before a short trip of about 1,100 miles to Birmingham, AL. The tractor has had an engine overhaul and is barely broken in. The tractor's interior is like new.

The trailer is a 48' Dorsey that was built by Canepa Concept Transporters. Those of you who have any knowledge of racing transporters know that anything from Bruce Canepa's shops is absolutely top-shelf. Simply stated, they are the Ferrari of transporters. (Perhaps Bruce would like to think of his transporters as being the Porsche of transporters, as he is seriously involved in Porsche vintage racing)! Their transporters are known for their attention to detail and quality.

The transporter has the following:

*Carries Five Cars (three up and two down, along with a golf cart forward).

*6.5KW Onan generator.
*6,000 lb. Liftgate.
*Bathroom, Sink, Coffee maker, and Microwave.

The rig has been stored indoors for most of its life, which speaks for its condition. Since we acquired it, we have waxed and polished the tractor. The rig is washed after every trip. We have used it for three trips only to Homestead, FL, Sebring, FL, and Birmingham, AL. The rig drives like a dream and has hundreds of thousands of miles left in it. The tires are all Michelin on tractor and trailer. They have lots of rubber remaining. You could spend $50,000 more on a rig that is not as nice as this. No finer equipment can be purchased than Kenworth and Canepa Concept Transporters. Both the first owner and we are vintage racers, and we just can't justify holding on to this superb rig. It is better to let another team use this equipment as it deserves.
It is located in Hudson, FL, just north of Tampa, FL on Florida's West Coast. The price is $79,500.
