Our local brokerage is actively seeking the services of 2-man independent contractor teams operating a minimum 24 foot box truck (with lift gate preferred) for the residential delivery and haul-away of furniture. Some furniture does require assembly. Teams must own and be able to use basic hand tools, a tape measure, moving pads, packing tape, booties and any equipment used for properly securing a load. All deliveries are "white glove". Removal of left-over packing material from each delivery site is required. Work begins in Dupont, WA at 7am and routes leave the dock at 8am throughout the Pacific Northwest. Teams load their own trucks. 8-12 stops per route. Addresses change daily. Team's daily schedules are split between 9am-1pm and 2pm-6pm. Teams are responsible for receiving proof of delivery and timely invoicing. Summary: The Field Service Supervisor oversees a team of 10 - 20 DART Bus Drivers in King County, a diverse staff serving diverse populations. The Field Service Supervisor leads the problem-solving, field training, troubleshooting, and monitoring of drivers; may also be responsible for driver scheduling or recruiting/hiring.

Essential Functions:

• Oversees safety and procedural compliance for all drivers and vehicles while in the provision of service. Provides in-the-field assistance as required and communicates driver concerns about operational difficulties to the General Manager.
• Trains and orients drivers and communicates safety and procedural guidelines and policies. Spot checks the completion of pre-trip inspections and monitors compliance to passenger boarding and de-boarding procedures. Monitors, evaluates and identifies drivers for re-training as necessary.
• Problem-solves areas of concern for drivers and dispatchers throughout the service area. Troubleshoots destinations, routes, scheduling, vehicle and/or driver issues as they arise.
• Conducts accident/incident investigations in the field. Ensures all reports are completed accurately and completely and are distributed to all required recipients.
• Responsible for fleet management maintenance schedules; assists with program data (manifests, reports, surveys for Metro, etc.) and fare collection reporting.
• Monitors driver performance including resolving performance issues and completing performance evaluations following Hopelink personnel guidelines. Work in collaboration with General Manager on employee disciplinary actions.
• Fully operates the variety of vehicles as needed to cover routes when drivers are absent.
• Assists the General Manager in recruitment, screening, interviewing, and selection of Driver applicants.
• Communicates respectfully with people of all cultures, languages, ages, genders, gender preferences, races, physical abilities, ethnic backgrounds, and religions.
• Maintains a professional and positive working relationship with clients, vendors, volunteers, donors, and fellow staff and adhere to the Hopelink Standards of Conduct.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of seven years licensed truck driving experience.

This position is responsible for the delivery and pick-up of tank trailers, industrial pumps, and related rental equipment to customer-requested locations in and around the Seattle area and requires vehicle combination experience, not straight truck experience. The trailing equipment winches on and off the 5th wheel in many cases, so prior experience using winch systems and hydraulics is needed. Those with commercial towing experience are encouraged to apply. Additionally, flatbeds and low-boys are used for transporting variable workloads of large and medium above-ground poly tanks, etc., and some industrial pumps and are secured with chains, binders, and/or straps and blockings. Locking differentials on the truck-tractors enable deliveries of rental equipment off-road in mud or on similarly challenging road conditions in inclement weather. Containment berms must be laid-out as required during set-up of rental equipment at customer site. Light mechanical, and containment repairs are performed Arc-welding experience for non-structural equipment repairs is performed when possible. Requirements • Current CDL--A is required with tanker and haz-mat endorsements and current medical card • Clean truck driving record (MVR) and background • 14 years preferred, with 10 years minimum of recent verifiable commercial truck driving experience required • Knowledge of state, local, DOT regulations • Prior experience hauling variable workloads with flat-bed, chains/binders and winch type loads • On/off road experience needed as is the willingness and ability to work in inclement weather. • Light mechanical experience required. Arc-welding experience (non-structural) preferred. • 24/7 on call rotating schedule • TWIC a plus or willingness to get as needed • Willingness to work O/T and make occasional overnight runs as necessary Top wages up to $21.00/hour DOE. Drivers are responsible for the collection and hand loading of residential recyclable, as well as the transporting by front-load or rear-load truck to a transfer facility. The position routinely requires extensive near-continuous physical exertions such as repetitive lifting, pushing, and pulling recycling receptacles as part of their rigorous daily routine. Often, these receptacles have no wheels or handles for maneuverability, and the driver must have the physical strength to adjust accordingly. This physically strenuous position involves mounting and dismounting the truck between 800 and 1000 times every shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be able to speak and read English well enough to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic and signals, respond to official questions, and be able to make legible entries on reports and records.
• Must have a valid Class A or B CDL with airbrakes endorsement for the state in which you are applying to work in.
• At least 1 year of previous experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL within the past 7 (seven) years.
• Clean truck driving record.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug screen, background and motor vehicle records check and Department of Transportation physical.
